How hard is it to learn?

It’s easy. Korthic’s a 1:1 replacement for English letters with only a handful of simple rules. Mostly, you just need to learn new letters.

Why does it exist?

Because in the process of writing hundreds of pages on my Remarkable tablet I learned that printing English letters quickly hurt my wrists. Writing in cursive solved that problem, but I struggled to read what I’d written when writing quickly. Too many of the letters looked alike.
